About: Using the MRSS Element allows users to incorporate dynamic content from an MRSS feed into their playlist. This element offers flexibility by dynamically populating content at a predefined time or instantly.
Creating an MRSS Element
To create an MRSS Element:
- Select New Media RSS in the library menu.
Configure the Media RSS:
- Title: This is the name of the placeholder element in the library and playlist.
- Description (optional): Add additional context or notes for the element.
- MRSS URL: Enter the URL of the MRSS feed.
- Default length: Specify the default duration of the MRSS element.
-
Content length: Choose whether the fetched content should:
- Fit into the default length, or
- Extend beyond the default length to prevent the crossing element from being trimmed, or
- Take the entire feed and ignore the default length.
- Start Content Fetching: Indicates the time before playback time to start fetching content from the MRSS feed or start fetching instantly when the element is being added to the playlist.
Key Features of MRSS Elements
Content Handling
- Default Length Management: If the MRSS feed does not provide sufficient content to fill the default playback length, available elements will be repeated until the length is filled.
- Backup Video: If the MRSS feed is inaccessible, the system will automatically play a backup video and retry accessing the feed every minute until the element’s scheduled time has passed.
- Download Failures: If individual files cannot be downloaded in time, the system will execute a normal skip-over for those files.
Adding the MRSS Element to a Playlist
- Position the Element: Drag and drop the MRSS Element into the playlist.
-
Content Fetching:
- The system starts downloading content from the MRSS URL as soon as the element is positioned (unless the "Start Filling Content" option is defined).
- Content will be added from the beginning of the MRSS feed data until the default or extended time is reached.
Additional Options
-
Fetch Now Button in playlist inspector:
