About: A lifespan is a duration a production should run once it has been started. After the lifespan expires, the production automatically turns off. Lifespan is an optional setting when configuring productions. It provides a simple option to set automated shutdowns to eliminate the need for users to manually turn off a production.

Lifespan behavior
Lifespan allows for setting a full hour duration between 1 and 48 hours. Once a production that has lifespan enabled has been started, the following scenarios can occur.
- The production runs for the full duration of the lifespan and automatically turns off once the lifespan expires.
- The production is manually stopped before the lifespan expires.
- Assigned inputs or outputs are removed before the lifespan expires. Removed inputs and outputs are turned off immediately.
- Inputs and outputs that are assigned while the production is running will use the remaining duration of the configured lifespan.
- Inputs that are used in multiple productions, will only use a lifespan if the production they have been initially started with had a lifespan configured.
Besides the configuration dialog, the lifespan is displayed in inspectors of productions as well as in inspectors of assigned inputs and outputs.
Hint: Once a production has been started with lifespan enabled, the production can not run longer than the configured lifespan. The duration of the lifespan can not be edited while a production is running.
