Inspect inputs
Inspecting an input and its live signal is possible anywhere an input or the related live signal is displayed.
Option A: Inspect via inputs
- Go to inputs.
2.1 Select an input in the list on the left.
2.2 Or select a live signal on stage.
Option B: Inspect via productions
- Go to productions.
2.1 Select an input in the inspector on the right.
2.2 Or select a signal tile in the multi-view.
Option C: Inspect via outputs
- Go to outputs.
- Select an output in the list on the left. The output needs to have a signal routed to it in order to select the respective input.
3.1 Select the routed signal on the stage.
3.2 Select the input in the inspector on the right.
Option D: Inspect via assets
- Go to assets.
- Select an ongoing recording.
Input inspector
When an input is selected, the inspector at the right displays configuration and real-time information of the input and its ingested signal. Depending on whether an ingested signal is present the inspector includes a live preview.
- Title: Displays the name and provides actions to edit, delete, or open the input.
- Preview info: Displays a label, e.g., "Preview" or "Original". Get more info on the video quality by placing your cursor on the label.
- Preview title: Displays the type of signal that is shown.
- (Optional: Only for inputs with failover enabled.) Signal indicator: Displays a “P” for Primary or an “S” for Secondary, which identifies the previewed signal.
- Preview: Displays a small video preview of the live signal with player and volume controls.
- (Optional: Only for inputs with failover enabled.) Switch Preview: The video preview can be switched between the primary signal and the secondary signal.
- Status: Offline, online, attention or error.
- Signal(s): Displays configured signals. Get the signal configuration by clicking on a signal element.
- Routed to Output(s): Lists all outputs the signal is currently routed to. If a signal is not routed to any output then a placeholder is listed.
- Metrics: Provides real-time connectivity metrics as well as information on the detected video and audio format.
- (Optional: Only for inputs with failover enabled.) Compare metrics: Press "Compare to" to monitor metrics for both incoming signals.
- Configuration: Displays the general configuration of the input. The specific information displayed depends on the type of input the user has selected.
Input flyout
When an input is selected in an inspector, the flyout opens next to the inspector and displays configuration information.
- Title: Displays the status with the name and provides an action to open the input.
- Status & Type: Displays the written status and input type.
- Signal configuration: Displays depending on the configuration one or two signal sections.
- Input configuration: Displays the general configuration of the input. The specific information displayed depends on the input type you have selected.
Live signal flyout
When a live signal is selected in an output inspector, the flyout opens next to the inspector and displays runtime information.
- Title: Displays the name based on the input and provides an action to open the live signal.
- Preview: Displays a small video preview of the live signal.
- Metrics: Provides real-time connectivity metrics as well as information on the detected video and audio format.
Streamtag specifics
Streamtags allow ingesting or grouping multiple signals under one input in contrast to other input types. Live Video Cloud provides separate inspectors for the Streamtag input and ingested live signals.
- Signal inspector:
Additionally contains a “contribution” section with a reference to the Streamtag input to open the configuration in the respective flyout. - Inputs view:
To filter the displayed Streamtag live signals, you can select a Streamtag input to only show live signals related to this input.
To remove an applied filter, click the selected input again or remove the pipe/label element in the upper left corner of the stage.
You can filter shown signals independent of the active display mode.
