About: HLS push destinations allow the distribution of a multi-quality signal via HLS. The destination can include up to three qualities if used as part of a transcoded output with multiple qualities.

Prepare

To configure an HLS push destination in Live Video Cloud you will need the manifest URL provided by your receiver.

Example of a manifest URL:

https://domain.com/path/master.m3u8

Configure an HLS push destination

To configure your destinations:

  1. Go to "Destinations".
  2. Press "Add Destination".
  3. Select "HLS Push".

In the expanded panel:

  1. Enter a name.
  2. Only for transcoded outputs: Assign up to three qualities. If you send to YouTube, assign only one quality.
  3. Enter the manifest URL.
  4. (Optional) Adjust segment duration (default value is 8 sec)
  5. (Optional) Adjust segments in playlist (default value is 6)
  6. (Optional) Add a delay to your signal distribution.
  7. (Optional) HLS authentication: Enable to enter authentication credentials.
  8. (Optional) Set up stream mapping overrides.

  9. Enable the destination to start publishing once the output is online.
