About: The Account Admin User Page allows account administrators to create, modify, rename, unlock, and view all users within their account.
Overview
If you have account admin permissions, you can access the Account Admin/Users tab to manage users within your account. This centralised interface provides complete oversight of user management, allowing you to create new users, modify existing user details, rename users, and view all users associated with your account.
Users Table
To view the users table, navigate to the Account Admin/Users (1) tab. The Users table (2) displays all users in the same account as you, providing a comprehensive overview of your account's user base.
From the users table, you can:
- View all user details including names, permissions, and status
- Create new users
- Modify existing user information
- Rename users
- Unlock locked-out users
Create
To create a new user:
- Click the New User icon located in the top left of the users table
- Fill out the Create User form with the required information
- Configure permissions for the new user
- Click "Save" to create the user
Login credentials
When filling out the login credentials, there are two different methods for password creation:
- Email Address: The new user gets an email where they can set their own password after clicking on a link.
- Password: The new user does not get an email and the password can be set directly by the admin.
When the permission Read Only is selected, the user can view the Portal, but can't make any changes.
Modify
To modify an existing user:
- Locate the user in the users table
- Click the three dots at the end of the user's table row
- Select the Modify option from the menu
- Update the desired fields in the modification form
- Click "Save" to apply changes
Modification limitations:
- You can modify all fields except the username (see Rename to do this)
- You cannot change the user's account assignment
- You can only grant or revoke read only permissions
- Even for users with higher-level permissions, you can only modify their read only access
Rename
To rename a user:
- Locate the user in the users table
- Click the three dots at the end of the user's table row
- Select the Rename option from the menu
- Enter the new username in the popup dialog
- Click "Confirm" to save the new name
Note that if the new username is already used by someone else, the rename will be rejected with an error message.
Attention: Username changes take effect immediately and will be reflected across all system interfaces.
Unlock
Users may become locked out of the portal under two circumstances:
- Login lockout: After too many incorrect password attempts, users are automatically locked from logging in for 3 minutes
- Password reset lockout: After requesting a password reset email more than 3 times, users are locked out from password resets
Account admins can unlock users in their account instantly by modifying the affected user.
To unlock a user:
- Locate the locked user in the users table (locked users will show their lockout status in the Locked Out column)
- Click the three dots at the end of the user's table row
- Select the Modify option from the menu
- Scroll to the bottom of the form to find the Login / Password Reset Lockouts section
- Check the appropriate box:
- Unlock User from Logins to remove login lockout
- Unlock User from Password Resets to remove password reset lockout
- Check both boxes if the user is locked out from both
- Click "Save" to remove the locks
